Monitoring and evaluation

SwimmerThis is an area that we have made our own and we are known for the depth, incisiveness and integrity with which we deliver.

Sport, physical activity and the wider cultural sector is under increasing pressure to demonstrate its impact on people’s lifestyles, health and well-being and, linked directly to this, its value in the context of wider political and social agendas.

Monitoring is commonplace but genuine evaluation and assessment of effectiveness and value for money relatively rare.

We adopt a tried and tested approach to evaluation, incorporating in depth desk research, comprehensive consultation and application of our extensive knowledge of the sector.

KKP has successfully delivered organisational reviews and detailed and constructive evaluations of a range of programmes at all levels:

  • Local – evaluation of community intervention programmes at local authority and down to super-output area levels
  • County – monitoring and assessing the impact of community, health and youth sport initiatives
  • Regional – reviewing the effectiveness of investment made by regional agencies and consortia
  • National – evaluation of national capital, revenue and specialist funding based initiatives in England, Wales, Scotland and Ireland

Our commitment to innovation is exemplified by our investment in the development of our simple, user-friendly assessment of young people’s physical literacy and fitness.

Developed via a series of carefully controlled pilots, we are now able to support clients to deliver and analyse a key set of simple tests. These allow genuine assessment of the progress being made and support targeting of investment in long-term athlete development (LTAD) programmes.
