Local authorities are a core element of our client base - over the last 17 years we have worked for more than 250 local authorities throughout the UK and Ireland.
We have a reputation combining sound systematic research and consultation methods with an ability to approach projects from a different perspective.
For example, we have supported many leading authorities to develop innovative responses to current challenges, delivered more than 50 open space strategies providing evidence bases for local development frameworks (LDFs) and established bespoke performance management systems to assist local authorities to set, measure and meet Local Area Agreement targets.
-
Measuring performance - we worked with Blackpool Council to develop a sophisticated management information, pricing and leisure card system to enable the Council to deliver and measure performance applying particular importance to achievement of value for money and catering more effectively for people from disadvantaged groups.
-
Protecting green spaces - In September 2007, we delivered our 50th full PPG17 open space, sport and recreation strategy for Bolton Metropolitan Borough Council, supporting the council's successful bid for Green Flag awards for the first time.
-
Strategic facilities planning - We delivered, in rapid succession, playing pitch and outdoor sport, sport and physical activity and sports facilities strategies plus an updated playing pitch audit for Birmingham City Council.

KKP, worked calmly and in a highly professional and organised manner ...the ability of staff from KKP to develop a close working relationship with staff across the Council over a very short period of time was also particularly pleasing as it ensured that the project ran smoothly for all concerned... John Nelson, West Lancashire District Council.
We have been very pleased with the relationship that developed between KKP and ourselves. The staff were always very professional, knowledgeable, enthusiastic and committed... Trevor Finch, Doncaster MBC
Working closely with KKP, Sunderland City Council has formulated a clear direction for play in the City. We are particularly pleased with the clear action plan now adopted by our play team. KKP clearly engaged with young people through their extensive consultation. It is pleasing to witness the increase in play activity following implementation of the Strategy... Alison O'Neill, Sunderland City Council
