KKP is the leading sports consultancy practice in the sector having worked on both national programmes and with a range of individual institutions applying our wealth of expertise from across the wider sports sector to meet the specific needs of higher education.

Transformation of the fee structure will put increased pressure on budgets and the need to demonstrate improved business practice, deliver efficiencies and increase the perceived value of sport to students, staff and the institution as a whole:

  • Strategic planning - we review the structures, funding and delivery of sport to develop improvement plans for institutions and development of sport services.
  • Asset management and investment - facility reviews, needs assessments and market appraisals to determine the right locations, funding and partnership packages that optimise student, community and elite sports provision.
  • Assessing potential for collaboration - identifying partnerships and joint developments to find mutually beneficial solutions that improve access for students, staff and wider communities.
  • Universities supporting talent - From the national TASS evaluation to researching the potential of running an international sports-based MBA.
KKP has an excellent understanding of university sport at every level. This was apparent during the strategic review of sports provision it conducted for the University of Manchester and UMIST prior to merger of the two institutions. Consultants engaged effectively with senior managers from the Vice Chancellor downward, through to operational staff. From a strong knowledge base, they challenged current conventions and developed a range of ambitious but practical solutions. KKP's review has lead to major improvements to how the University values, manages and delivers sport both internally and in its outward relationship with the community...
