Knight, Kavanagh & Page (KKP) is currently conducting a sports and sports facilities strategy for North Lanarkshire. The Council has commissioned this work in partnership with North Lanarkshire Leisure (NLL) & sportscotland in a bid to increase participation levels in sport, improve the quality of services for customers and support talented athletes.
The process
First, KKP will work with the Council and its partners to identify its vision for sport across the area. Only then will the team be able to translate this into a facility strategy. The key stages of the study are outlined below and include:
- Background research - completed and being used to inform consultation
- Consultation and on-line survey - currently underway. Invaluable face to face consultation has taken place with around 60 key officers and stakeholders.
- Audit of current facilities - nearing completion. All key sports facilities, including school facilities have been audited.
- Preparation of a Key Issues paper
- Development of a Sports Strategy
- Development of a Sports Facilities Strategy
This web page will ensure that all interested parties are kept up to date with progress as well as providing a forum for securing further consultation feedback.
Your views count...
North Lanarkshire Council is keen to hear as wide a cross section of views and opinions on sport as possible and is looking to capture this through to a series of online surveys.
NEW!! - Sports facility user survey - http://www.kkp.co.uk/~surveys/northlanarkshire/nllc02.htm
Are you an Access NL member? Or do you use the sports facilities in North Lanarkshire? If so, please complete this short on-line survey. Your comments will help to improve the services you receive.
The Sports club and Community Group surveys are now complete. Over 150 clubs and groups responded to the survey and the data is currently being analysed. Many thanks to all those that took the time to highlight the current issues and challenges in North Lanarkshire.
If you have any further questions, or require any further information about the projects, then please do not hesitate to contact Victoria Taylor at KKP (victoria.taylor@kkp.co.uk) or Ian Murdoch at North Lanarkshire Council (MurdochI@northlan.gov.uk)
