A new Arts and Cultural Centre in Colne Valley..

Yorkshire Forward, working in partnership with the Marsden and Slaithwaite Renaissance Market Town Team and Kirklees Council has appointed Knight, Kavanagh & Page (KKP) to conduct a feasibility study into the potential development of an Arts and Cultural Centre within the Upper Colne Valley.

KKP will work with Burns-Collett to undertake research into potential options for a creative, flexible workspace and contemporary focal venue within the area that services residents, visitors and investors. This will, if feasible, culminate in the preparation of a full business case plan for preferred option(s).  The aim is to provide increased opportunity for creative practitioners in all media to develop their practice and business within Marsden and Slaithwaite.

KKP is very experienced in managing projects of this type. Yorkshire Forward and partners are looking for a creative solution and the project team balances experience of cultural projects, workspaces, creative industries and detailed business planning and site evaluation and appraisal.  Delivering projects as varied as the feasibility assessment for the North West Cultural Observatory Gateway for the NWDA to supporting development of the Bluecoat Arts Centre in Liverpool, KKP and Burns-Collett have generated a range of innovative, pragmatic ideas and solutions for clients of different types throughout the UK.
