KKP to support Cornwall Sports Partnership in a bid for Community Investment Funding

Knight Kavanagh & Page (KKP) has been commissioned by Cornwall Sports Partnership to support an application for Community Investment Funding (CIF) Stage 2.  The intention is to use the funds generated by the bid to recruit community sports coaches targeted at increasing levels of physical activity in hard to reach groups.

The bid will support the recruitment of up to three full-time and six part-time community sports coaches across the partnership. Each full time coach will provide between 15 and 20 hours of quality coaching per week. Their target will be to increase levels of sport and active recreation amongst women, 16 to 19 year olds and older people.  This will be achieved through a mixture of innovative arrangements between sports organisations, health organisations and social services (in public and charitable sectors) and new ways of working.

Mike Thomas, Strategic Director for Cornwall Sports Partnership said, "This is an exciting approach to the challenge to increase and sustain sports participation.  We know that things need to be done differently and this bid is part of that process.  The community sports coaches will help us to find some of the best ways of doing it".  The Stage 2 bid will be ready for submission during April.
