KKP celebrates its 18th

Knight Kavanagh & Page was created, by John Eady, in August 1990, driven by a genuine desire to make a real and tangible difference to sport. Since its formation, it has expanded in terms of premises, project portfolio and staff as well as seeing through some revolutionary changes in the management and delivery of sport.

An early venture was the writing of "Practical Sports Development"; this definitive reference text is still used today by leisure managers, practising SDOs, lecturers, teachers and students. Other first portfolio assignments included facilities planning work for Blackburn with Darwen and St Helens councils, the British Amateur Wrestling Association and Sport England.

Recognising the need for impartial and objective consultancy support across the public sector, additional consultants were soon added, bringing with them complementary skills and experience to expand the breadth of services offered.

Following two office moves to accommodate more people, projects and dedicated market research and GIS units, KKP has become one of the UK's leading management consultancy practices, working in the following sectors - sport, leisure, culture, regeneration and green spaces - a major multi-disciplinary practice combining innovation and excellent project management.

John said,

"This is a timely opportunity to voice my gratitude to all those that have supported KKP, as well as those we have supported, over the last 18 years. These range from advisors and mentors (especially at the outset) to the key staff that have made a valuable contribution to the Company's success. We would not be where we are today without their time and dedication, not forgetting the many clients I am proud to now call friends."

As to the future, the Company is keen to maintain its steady growth and continue to expand its work volume with UK national governing bodies of sport while further developing some of its commercial sector partnerships. It will do this while maintaining its distinctive profile and market position in the sector; possibly using it as an appropriate platform from which to respond to some of the interest being generated in overseas markets.
