Considering sports provision in Hattersley

Tameside Borough Council (TBC), Hattersley Neighbourhood Partnership and the Tameside Sports Trust have appointed Knight Kavanagh & Page (KKP) to undertake a needs assessment for the Hattersley area.  Whilst the key focus for the study is assessing the need to develop indoor sports facilities on the new £1million Ken Ward Sports Centre, the study also encompasses the review of provision of all other sports facilities throughout the area.

This project follows the Council's previous work at the Ken Ward Sports Centre, which resulted in a successful Football Foundation bid. The Centre, which includes 2 synthetic turf pitches, 2 natural turf football pitches, changing and shower facilities and ample car parking, opened in September 2006.

This is a project that KKP is ideally placed to deliver.  The company has developed a strong working relationship with the Council and the Sports Trust; supporting them on a number of projects from the development of a company strategy for the Trust, to developing the rationale for the delivery of Active England Revenue Funding at the newly opened Oxford Park community sports facility. KKP will utilise this direct and extensive knowledge of the area to ensure that the comprehensive assessment and recommendations for future developments meet the needs of the residents of Hattersley.
