Weymouth & Portland Borough Council (WPBC) has commissioned Knight Kavanagh & Page (KKP) to undertake an open space, sport and recreational facilities audit and assessment. KKP's five stage approach to open space assessment and strategy production will provide WPBC with a clear strategic pathway for improvement, investment and protection of sports facilities and recreational open space in the Borough.

The Council, with over 60,000 residents, is principally an urban area, surrounded by protected landscapes and coastlines with world heritage status. The internationally significant sailing and watersports provision in the area will be a key focus of the study because it will host the sailing events for the London 2012 Olympic Games.

This is a project that KKP is well placed to deliver. Its combination of strategic expertise and understanding places it at the forefront of open spaces, outdoor recreation, play and playing pitch strategy work nationally. KKP also brings key hands on experience of managing watersports facilities to the commission.

The project will be managed by the staff at the Company's South West office.
