KKP to maximise impact of Oxford park development
Management consultants Knight, Kavanagh & Page (KKP) has been appointed by the Ashton Regeneration, Tameside MBC and Tameside Sports Trust partnership to develop a range of programmes and processes to maximise community use of and benefit from the new Oxford Park sports centre.
Sport England (through the Active England Fund) has awarded £100,000 revenue funding for three years to ensure that sport and physical activity opportunities for local people are developed at the facility. The key challenge is to ensure that participation in sport and physical activity among the area's 12,000 local residents is maximised and linked to a range of other inclusion and community safety outcomes.
KKP will also be advising on the most appropriate system for monitoring use of the facility. Such systems are becoming recognised by the industry as a crucial factor to ensure the ongoing success of sports facilities.
