KKP awarded open space audit from fourth largest local authority in Scotland
North Lanarkshire Council (NLC) has commissioned Knight, Kavanagh & Page (KKP) to undertake an open space assessment and audit for the district. This follows on from KKP's completion of a playing pitch strategy for the Council in May 2006 and as such reaffirms a successful working relationship. Based in the heart of Scotland, North Lanarkshire covers an area of 47,213 hectares and covers one of the largest local council areas in the Country.
KKP is one of the leading management consultancy practices, specialising in sport, leisure, culture and open spaces. In recent years the company has conducted more than 50 comprehensive open space and playing pitch studies across the UK. It has a well-earned reputation for expert community consultation and quality fieldwork. The company's experience of such projects will be particularly important as, with 3,000 site visits to form the basis of the audit, the North Lanarkshire study is more than three times the size of a typical open space study which normally consists of less than 1,000 site assessments.
Claire Fallon, Senior Consultant has overall responsibility for open space work within KKP and will manage the project. Supported by a team of consultants and researchers, she will ensure that a project of this scale is delivered on schedule, provides NLC with a high quality service and delivers clear strategic pathways for improvement, investment and protection of open spaces provision.
