The British Judo Trust

The BJT has been introduced to generate additional income to directly support the development of judo within the UK. Funds raised by the Trust will be invested in new resources, which will complement and expand the existing development work carried out by the British Judo Association. This will include enhancing development of the sport in targeted areas and support for activity across its three key programmes - widening participation, developing people and facility development.

John (who is the Chief Executive of KKP) will join a board that includes the Patron of the Trust, Colin Draycott and other directors; Densign White (Chairman of the BJA), Brian Davies (Vice-Chairman of the BJA), Richard Barraclough (Vice-President of the BJA) and Charlie Bethel (Chief Executive of GB Wheelchair Basketball Association).

Following an initial meeting to confirm the vision for the Trust, the Board will have its second meeting in September 2007 - to discuss key priorities and provide a focus for fund raising.

Commenting on this latest appointment, John said ‘I am looking forward to working with colleagues on the Board of the Trust. Judo is a sport with which KKP has worked extensively over the last 5-10 years and I hope that I can add a broader industry dimension to the work that the BJT does.
