Education and schools

Facing challenging targets to increase levels of participation in sport and physical activity, the education sector has invested heavily in the provision of facilities and programmes for children and young people.

We are known for our detailed understanding of sports development processes for young people and of the ‘club-links' between school sport and the wider sector.

We have successfully implemented new management practices, assisted schools, school sport partnerships and children's and young people's services to evaluate and improve what they do and to secure external funding for schools-based projects.

KKP is also the leading market research provider in the youth sport sector. Our portfolio of projects places us at the forefront of understanding true levels of participation and the effectiveness of programmes, partnerships and initiatives.

  • PE and sport strategies - Working closely with schools, PDMs and other specialists we have produced challenging, innovative and widely acclaimed PE and school sport strategy for Sunderland and Blackpool.
  • Extended schools' - we played a key role in assessing the feasibility, designing and detailing the management, business and sports development planning, as well as securing external funding for, the recently opened sports complex at Astley Sports College, Tameside.
  • Taking school sports partnerships to a new level - The Lincolnshire School Sport Partnership Consortium which provides a network for peer support and partnership work across the county invited us to assess its impact on the quality and pace of development of best practice in PE, school and community sport.
  • Specialist schools - In 2006, Lansbury Bridge School was awarded specialist sports college status following a planning and application process that involved merging several smaller schools and the development of a brand new school facility. We planned and wrote its application for sports college status and prepared associated bid documentation and evidence.

Jane Harrison, Bursar at Astley Sports College said; "We would not be where we are today had it not been for the time and dedication that KKP and its staff provided to the school, working around the clock and in difficult circumstances to ensure that applications for funding were developed and submitted in the correct manner. It provided the skills and knowledge to maximise the success of our bid and along with other external partners turned our vision into reality."
