Review and management of Clubmark

Following an indepth review of Clubmark, KKP has been appointed by Sport England to manage the scheme until 2009. This will entail working closely with NGBs, equity partners and county sports partnerships to drive Clubmark into new areas and increase the number of NGBs and clubs committed to it.

Detailed consultation with NGBs and other partners has identified the role that KKP will play in the future. It will be the key licensing agent ensuring that NGBs conform to the highest of standards.

Training for new and existing deliverers, ensuring understanding and consistency across the country will be a primary tenet of KKP's approach in the first year. As will refining protocols and procedures ensuring that each partner has a clear role within the framework.

Much work has been undertaken by the NGBs themselves and many have developed a robust product that will drive club development and raise standards of junior clubs in this country. KKP will ensure that

  • the number of accredited clubs continues to rise
  • standards are increased and participation can be driven up in such clubs.

KKP will also be working with trusts, private and public leisure operators and other facility providers to help raise the profile of Clubmark to make it the

recognised brand of a high quality junior club and to enhance the benefits to clubs that gain the award.
